Elio trailer drops! Pixar’s newest hero promises to take you for an ultimate intergalactic adventure

Disney and Pixar are set to take audiences on an intergalactic adventure with their upcoming animated film Elio. Slated for a theatrical release on June 20, 2025, the film follows the journey of an 11-year-old boy who finds himself at the center of an extraordinary cosmic misadventure.

Elio introduces audiences to its titular character, voiced by Yonas Kibreab, a young boy with a wild imagination and an obsession with all things extraterrestrial. Unlike most children, Elio’s biggest dream is to be abducted by aliens—and much to his surprise, that wish comes true. Beamed up to the Communiverse, a vast intergalactic council where representatives from different galaxies converge, Elio is unexpectedly mistaken for Earth’s leader. Tasked with forming connections with alien species while navigating a crisis of interstellar proportions, he embarks on an unforgettable journey of self-discovery.

 

Accompanying Elio on his adventure is his Aunt Olga, voiced by Academy Award winner Zoe Saldaña, and Glordon, his first alien friend, voiced by Remy Edgerly. The film also features an impressive voice cast, including Brad Garrett as Lord Grigon, Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa, and Shirley Henderson as the mysterious OOOOO.

 

 

Directed by Madeline Sharafian of Burrow fame, Domee Shi of Turning Red and Bao fame, and Adrian Molina, co-screenwriter/co-director of Coco, and produced by Mary Alice Drumm - associate producer of Coco, Elio promises a blend of heartfelt storytelling, imaginative visuals, and Pixar’s signature emotional depth.

 

With a newly released trailer, poster, and film images, anticipation for Elio is steadily building. As audiences prepare to embark on this cosmic journey, the film is expected to deliver a unique, out-of-this-world adventure, continuing Pixar’s legacy of bringing captivating and emotionally resonant stories to the big screen.
