Amy Poehler on Inside Out 2: "Joy and Sadness, Anxiety and Envy—all try to work together in hilarious and touching ways"

Pixar’s Inside Out 2 was unveiled at CinemaCon 2024 earlier this month, presenting 30 minutes of footage from the upcoming film to the attendees. Right after the preview, fans and journalists alike took to social media raving about the new emotions and the colourful visuals taking the internet by storm. As we approach the release of the highly anticipated sequel, Annecy Festival shared an exciting update about the official run-time for Inside Out 2.

According to the official run-time on Annecy Festival’s website, Inside Out 2 is slated to run for 1 hour, and 40 minutes, which will be five minutes longer than 2015's Academy Award-winning Inside Out.

 

Amy Poehler, who voices ‘Joy’ in Inside Out 2, also recently shared her excitement about taking the upcoming animated film to Sydney, saying “I’m really looking forward to taking part in Vivid Sydney this year, a place that welcomes Joy in every way,” further adding “I can’t wait to share a little of Inside Out 2: a movie that lets Joy and Sadness, Anxiety and Envy—all try to work together in hilarious and touching ways” before presenting Inside Out 2 at ‘Vivid Sydney’ event which is set to take place on 27 May.

 

Inside Out 2 features an expanded team of emotions, set against the backdrop of protagonist ‘Riley’s’ mind. The film is directed by Kelsey Mann and stars a stellar cast that includes Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Ayo Edibiri, and Kaitlyn Dias in pivotal roles.

 

Inside Out 2 opens in Indian theatres on 14 June.
