Actors Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep have begun the promotional tour for The Devil Wears Prada 2, with their first appearance taking place in Mexico City.

The actors were seen attending a brunch at Frida Kahlo Museum, also known as La Casa Azul. The event marked the start of the film’s global promotions and drew attention for its fashion-focused presentation. Streep, who reprises her role as Miranda Priestly, appeared in a custom Schiaparelli ensemble, reflecting the character’s signature style. Hathaway, returning as Andy Sachs, opted for a red Stella McCartney mini dress paired with thigh-high boots.

 

The sequel arrives nearly two decades after the release of The Devil Wears Prada (2006), which became known for its portrayal of the fashion industry and its influence on pop culture. The original film gained recognition for its costume design, memorable dialogue and depiction of workplace dynamics in the fashion world.

 

With the follow-up, expectations are centred on the return of key characters and the continuation of themes associated with the original, including fashion, media and industry relationships. The early stages of the press tour indicate a continued emphasis on style and presentation, aligning with the franchise’s identity.

 

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled to release in theatres on May 1.
