Zeenat Aman drops a priceless throwback pic from set of Shalimar; shares amusing story behind it

Every picture tells a story. In fact, in the case of veteran actress Zeenat Aman, this is quite applicable. Ever since she has made her debut on Instagram, with each post on her feed, she has given her followers a peek into her life. Making an addition to the same, the glamorous diva of Indian cinema took a trip down the memory lane and recalled the mahurat day of Krishna Shah’s film Shalimar. She revealed that during one of the shoot days, British actor Rex Harrison advised her to get married immediately because she was beautiful.

In the throwback photo, Aman is looking gorgeous in a silver gown. Speaking of its details, an excerpt of her post read, “My glorious silver gown was created by renowned costume designer Mani Rabadi based on a design of my own making. Its plunging neckline and sleek silhouette certainly turned some heads. In fact, Mani literally sewed me into the gown to give it that exquisite fit.”

 

Meanwhile, the Roti Kapda Aur Makaan actress further continued, “We had several international actors in attendance that day, including Gina Lollobrigida. She later backed out of the production, amongst swirling rumours that we had locked horns. British actor Rex Harrison wasn’t at the event, but he was in the film. One day on set, he told me - “A beautiful girl like you should get married immediately”. I had a good laugh over that. And for the record, I think that’s a terrible reason to get married.”

 

 

 

Concluding her write-up, the 71-year-old actress stated that though Shalimar didn’t quite dazzle the audience, it was a “thrilling adventure all the same.” Like always, the post received love from the netizens. “Shalimar was thrilling film with international fair and good songs, it deserved more love at the box office,” wrote movie buff, while another commented, “Our teenaged hearts raced like crazy when we first saw this photo.”
