Vir Das pens note of gratitude after Priyanka Chopra Jonas sends him a handwritten letter congratulating him on his International Emmy win

Being one of the most beloved comedians of the country, Vir Das who has performed in India and abroad recently received a massive honor at the International Emmy Awards 2023. He won the award for Best Comedy Series for Netflix’s show Vir Das: Landing and shared it with UK show Derry Girls. The stand-up comedian, who has entertained industry insiders and citizens alike with his quirky, witty, and funny sketches, received a lovely congratulatory note from Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Das couldn’t be happier about it.

Vir Das took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express his gratitude towards Priyanka Chopra Jonas for her sweet gesture as he said, "Thank you @priyankachopra for the flowers and for every door you’ve opened for the rest of us. You’re awesome!" To congratulate him on his recent Emmy win, Priyanka Chopra Jonas had sent him beautiful flowers along with a handwritten note which read, "Dear Vir, wishing you huge congratulations on your Emmy win! Such a well deserved and wonderful accomplishment! With love, Priyanka, Mary and your friends at Purple Pebble Pictures."

 

 

In the past, both the celebrities have expressed their admiration for each other. While Vir Das has often thanked Priyanka Chopra Jonas for opening doors of opportunities for Indian artists abroad, The Sky Is Pink actress has spoken about her experience of attending one of the comedian’s shows in the US. Vir Das has earlier appreciated Priyanka Chopra Jonas at The Ranveer Show wherein he had said, “Priyanka is the global Indian. I walk into a room, and there's like 'you're Indian, you like Priyanka Chopra, no?' So that is a thing now.”

 

 

On the other hand, PC had shared her experience of attending one of Vir’s stand-up comedy shows in UK on social media saying, “What a day! With Awesome friends watching an awesome friend do what he does best! @virdas you r so brave and so inspiring to me! Not to mention had me in tears laughing!! Thx for having us!”

 

While Vir Das and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, both have extensively worked in Bollywood, they are yet to share screen space with each other.
