Sushmita Sen revealed between 2010 and 2012, she ran the Miss Universe franchise from India. Interestingly, the enterprise was owned by none other than the ex-President of the USA, Donald Trump. She revealed in this interview with Mayank Shekhar that she quit the programme as she was not happy with the people she was working with.

When asked about working with Donald Trump, she replied, “There are some people who leave an impression, not necessarily because of their achievements or power. Just for the people that they are. He is not one of them.” However, she didn’t give more details on the controversial American personality who’s currently in the middle of a legal storm.

Sushmita Sen, however, got involved with this project as she won the Miss Universe title way back in 1994. Before that, she won the Femina Miss India title. She opened up that her father was apprehensive about this contest, “I can’t participate in the contest, and not do the swim-suit round, which is part of it. I told him, baba, I have to wear a swimsuit. But I promise you, I will add respect to it. It will not be ‘chhablami’ [crass].” She also said that her father cried his lungs out when she won the Miss India title.

Sushmita Sen also confessed that she was not happy with the films she was doing and hence, decided to take a sabbatical. The film that triggered her to do so was No Problem (2010), directed by Anees Bazmee and co-starring Anil Kapoor, Akshaye Khanna, Kangana Ranaut and Paresh Rawal.
