Sonu Sood visits Punjab hospital to help communities affected by floods

Actor Sonu Sood has travelled to Punjab to extend support to people affected by the recent floods. He visited areas near Sultanpur Lodhi, Baupur, and Sangra, where residents are dealing with displacement, property damage, and health concerns following the calamity.

During his visit, Sonu Sood met Avijot, a young boy undergoing treatment, whose resilience deeply moved him. Sharing a heartfelt moment with the child and his family, he assured them that they are not alone in this fight. “We’ll do everything we can to help him heal. Wishing this little angel strength and a speedy recovery. He’s not alone.” he expressed.

 

He added, "I’ve spoken with the family, and we’re committed to ensuring that the floods won’t interrupt his treatment."

 

 

 

In a conversation with PTI, Sonu said, “The problems I faced in Punjab were solved with the help of my sister, Malvika, who stood by me throughout. While I was packed up early for my shoot, she would go to the ground every day and speak to the villagers about their needs. I told her that while ensuring everything reaches the village, we must also make sure there are no issues with ration distribution, as that is most beneficial. I asked her to encourage everyone to share their specific requirements so that we can collect and provide accordingly.

 

Speaking about Avijot he stated, “The child, from the village of Anjala, was suffering from kidney failure. Since he couldn’t leave his house, we arranged to take him out for treatment, which has now begun. He is very unwell and comes from a poor family, but we will do our best to ensure his treatment is carried out as soon as possible.

 

Expressing his feelings while helping in Punjab, he added, “The specialty of Punjab is that no matter how many people are there, the attitude of Punjabis is always so good when I talk to them and meet them. They give me such energy. You go to help them, but instead, they stand up for you. They ask, ‘What can I offer? Should I bring milk or tea?’ You don’t feel like an outsider. They say their homes might be gone, but their hope will never break.”

 

His recent visit reflects the continuity of his commitment, as he personally traveled to the affected areas to ensure that Avijot and others continued to receive support despite the difficulties caused by the floods.

 

Sonu Sood has been actively involved in coordinating relief measures, providing medical support, and assisting families affected by the floods. His visit highlights his direct approach to philanthropy, focusing on being present in affected areas rather than extending help from a distance.
