Sara Ali Khan wraps Ae Watan Mere Watan: “A true personification of strength, dignity and passion”

Following the wrap of Murder Mubarak, Sara Ali Khan has wrapped another project – Ae Watan Mere Watan. The actress will play the role of a freedom fighter and has finally completed the film.

Taking to her Instagram account on Monday, the actress shared a series of photos. She wrote, “‘Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever’ - Mahatma Gandhi. Thank you Kannan sir for choosing me to portray this powerful character; a true personification of strength, dignity and passion. Some parts stay etched in our souls, and I know I will carry this one with me forever…Jai Bholenath.”

 

 

 

Sara Ali Khan will play a valiant, lion-hearted freedom fighter in a fictional tale set against the backdrop of Quit India Movement in 1942.

 

A thriller drama, inspired by true events, Ae Watan Mere Watan, has been written by Darab Farooqui and Kannan Iyer. A Dharmatic Entertainment Production, the film is being produced by Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta, with Somen Mishra serving as the co-producer and is being directed by Kannan Iyer. This is an Amazon original movie.

 

Other than Murder Mubarak and Ae Watan Mere Watan, Sara will also feature in Laxman Utekar's next opposite Vicky Kaushal titled Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and also Anurag Basu's Metro...In Dino for which she will resume shooting in mid-May.
