Filmmaker Priyadarshan’s upcoming drama Haiwaan officially wrapped its shoot, completing the final schedule at the iconic St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai. The location added a personal layer of nostalgia for actor Saiyami Kher, who not only plays a key role in the film but is also an alumna of the college. On the final day, she shared a heartfelt picture and expressed how filming at her alma mater felt like “coming back home.”

Haiwaan features a strong ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Saiyami Kher and Sharib Hashmi. The film was shot across multiple scenic locations such as Kochi, Ooty and Mumbai, and is expected to bring forward an engaging story shaped by Priyadarshan’s distinctive filmmaking style.

 

Reflecting on her emotional experience during the final schedule, Saiyami said, “Wrapping Haiwaan at Xavier’s was a very special feeling for me. I met some of my professors, the same watchman and several staff members, and they were all smiling with pride. This college shaped me and encouraged me to dream of becoming an actor. Walking through those corridors again, but this time as an actor shooting a film, felt surreal. It truly felt like life had come full circle. I felt a deep sense of gratitude—both towards my college for inspiring me, and towards this film for bringing me back to the place where it all started. It genuinely felt like coming back home.”

 

Now that production has concluded, Haiwaan has entered the post-production stage. With its strong cast, varied locations and Priyadarshan’s storytelling, the film has already built considerable anticipation. Haiwaan is expected to hit theatres in 2026, and fans are eagerly waiting to see what the acclaimed filmmaker delivers next.
