Nimrat Kaur celebrates 9 years of Irrfan Khan starrer ‘The Lunchbox’; shares a nostalgic memory

In 2013, a light-hearted movie grabbed the attention of the audience with its simple yet heart-touching love story. And that film was The Lunchbox, starring Nimrat Kaur and late actor Irrfan Khan in the lead. As the film clocked nine today, that is September 20, 2022, the female lead of The Lunchbox took to her verified social media handle and shared a gratitude post.

Interestingly, in the multiple-picture post, Nimrat Kaur shared two official posters of the film along with an Amul doodle. “The biggest gifts of life are the ones that age better than anything you could imagine”, the actress wrote in the caption. Her write-up further read, “ I thank all of you and the universe above for this precious day 9 years ago, when life as I knew it changed forever”.

 

To conclude the same, the 40-year-old actress stated, “Here’s to the perennial love and continued magic #TheLunchbox spins and the immortality of the talent and heart that made it all happen”. She also tagged the makers of the film. Interestingly, the producer of The Lunchbox, Karan Johar, was among the first one to react to the post, as he commented, “Such a special film and you were so magical in it”. Acknowledging Johar’s token of appreciation, Kaur replied, “forever grateful and thank you so very much indeed Karan! Really fortunate.”

 

 

 

The actress says, “The Lunchbox will forever be a film that is close to my heart. It was my first film in a leading role and there were hoardings all over there was a well-known brand that did one of their signature takes on the film and that was extremely special for me. I remember we had organised a special screening of the film in Delhi where it was just me, Irrfan, Ritesh Batra and our close family and friends and it is crazy to look back and see how things have changed.”

 

For the unversed, the Ritesh Batra directorial revolved around a young housewife to an older man, who fell in love without even meeting each other. The star cast of the film also featured Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a pivotal role. The film received a positive response from the audience as well as the critics.
