Kareena Kapoor gives a shoutout to Karisma Kapoor as Brown starts streaming: “Put your hands up for my LOLO”
Karisma Kapoor's latest project Brown premiered on ZEE5 on June 5, and ahead of its release, the actor received a special show of support from her family. Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan attended a special screening of the crime thriller in Mumbai on Thursday, joining Karisma for the occasion.
Kareena later shared moments from the evening on social media, expressing her admiration for her elder sister. Posting a picture featuring Karisma and Saif, Kareena wrote, “No one like LOLO. Put your hands up for my LOLO. @therealkarismakapoor.”
In another photograph from the event, Kareena referred to the duo as her favourites, captioning the image, “With my mains.”
The Kapoor sisters and Saif Ali Khan posed together for photographers at the screening. For the event, Karisma opted for a black outfit paired with a long patterned coat. Kareena chose a traditional ensemble, while Saif kept his look understated in an all-black outfit.
The screening also saw the presence of filmmaker Sudhir Mishra, who has directed the series. Several members of the entertainment industry attended the event, including actor-singer Meiyang Chang and other guests from the film and streaming space.
Brown marks Karisma Kapoor's return with a dark and intense role. The neo-noir psychological crime thriller places her at the centre of a complex investigation set against the backdrop of Kolkata.
According to the makers, the series is “a neo-noir psychological crime thriller set against the haunting beauty and moral chaos of Kolkata.” Karisma essays the role of Rita Brown, a once-celebrated police officer who is now battling personal demons and a troubled past.
The official synopsis describes Rita Brown as “once the city's finest cop, now a disgraced, alcoholic officer haunted by past.”
Apart from Karisma Kapoor, the series also stars Surya Sharma, Jisshu Sengupta and Soni Razdan in key roles.
