Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan recreate Filmfare moment; internet goes nostalgic
It was a nostalgia-filled night at the Filmfare Awards 2025 as Bollywood’s most beloved on-screen duo — Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan — brought back the magic of the 90s both on stage and online.
The iconic pair not only took home the Filmfare Icon Awards, but also left fans emotional with a special performance celebrating their timeless classics — Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Videos of their performance have since gone viral, with fans calling it a “blast from the golden era.”
Kajol later shared a heartwarming then-and-now post featuring a vintage photo of her and SRK playfully holding their Filmfare trophies years ago — mirrored perfectly by a recent picture of them holding their new Black Ladies together. She captioned it: “That was then. This is now… Most epic throwback ever!! Thank you @filmfare for my 7th black lady.”
Karan Johar also joined the nostalgia fest on his story, writing: “Love you both so much!!! Thank you for making my memories so beautiful … @kajol @iamsrk”
He added another shout-out: “Dittoooooo… back atcha both @iamsrk and u @karanjohar even tho he wasn’t on stage @manishmalhotra05.”
The duo, seen twinning in black, reminded everyone why they remain the definition of on-screen chemistry — a pairing that has aged like fine wine.
This moment comes with double nostalgia — DDLJ celebrates 30 years this month, while Kuch Kuch Hota Hai turns 27. Decades later, their charm, camaraderie, and cinematic legacy continue to reign supreme.
