Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10: Karan Johar feels “numb” after Nishant Bhat dedicates a performance to the LGBTQIA+ community

Thus, the channel is sharing a bunch of promos on its official Instagram handle. While many others give a peek into Sidharth’s visit, one of them features a short clip of contestant Nishant Bhat’s performance and how KJo reacted to it. For the unversed, Nishant’s performance will be dedicated to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Talking about the clip, it starts with Nishant swinging a red dupatta and embracing it with happiness while dancing. Later, a door opens and a voice is heard, “ye ladka hokar bhi ladkiyon ke kapde pehn raha hai” (He is a boy and still wears women's clothes).” Hearing this, Bhat feels bad and cries at the end of his performance.

After the performance, Madhuri Dixit says, “LGBTQIA + community ko samaj accept karne ke liye ready nhi hota hai. (Society does not easily accepts LGBTQIA + community).” In addition, an emotional Karan says, “mai numb ho gaya tha, kyuki mai un galiyu se guzar chuka hoon (I got numb, because I have been through this).” On the other hand, actress Nia Sharma also reacted to the post as she wrote, “Respect” in the comments section.

The 50-year-old filmmaker earlier opened up about the hardships of LGBTQIA+ community during The India Today Conclave 2019. While expressing his happiness when Section 377 was struck down, he had said, "I just woke up and I cried. I cried for the community. I cried for the fact that there was finally freedom. There was one love and equal love for our great country to have supported this.”
