Ishwak Singh speaks on playing Dr Ajay Muradia in Tumko Meri Kasam: "This story is as much about the man as it is about his mission”

Ishwak Singh and veteran actor Anupam Kher come together to portray the inspiring journey of Dr. Ajay Murdia, the visionary behind India’s largest IVF chain, Indira IVF, in the upcoming film Tumko Meri Kasam. The recently released trailer has garnered an overwhelmingly positive response, sparking curiosity about the film’s unique and rarely explored subject in Bollywood.

Both Ishwak and Anupam Kher lead the film, portraying Dr. Murdia in two distinct yet equally compelling timelines. Ishwak’s track captures the formative years of Dr. Murdia—his transition from a college professor to a pioneer in fertility treatment, his fight against deep-seated social stigmas surrounding infertility, and his mission to challenge the long-standing belief that infertility is solely a woman’s problem. His journey is not only about medical advancements but also about breaking societal barriers, and at the heart of it is the unwavering support of his wife, played by Adah Sharma. Their relationship adds an emotional depth to the film, making it as much a story of love as it is of resilience.

 

Meanwhile, Anupam Kher’s timeline explores Dr. Murdia’s later years, where he faces an entirely different challenge—protecting his legacy as external threats jeopardize everything he has built.

 

Speaking about the film, Ishwak shared, “This story is as much about the man as it is about his mission. Playing Dr. Murdia in his formative years, when he was laying the foundation for Indira IVF, taking on societal stigma, and reshaping conversations around fertility, has been an incredible experience. What makes the film even more special is that we get to see his journey in two timelines, with Anupam sir portraying a phase where he’s fighting for everything he has created. Watching him bring such depth and power to the role was truly inspiring.”

 

Directed by Vikram Bhatt and produced by Indira Entertainment, Tumko Meri Kasam is set to release on 21 March 2025.
