Exclusive: "Main Lata Mangeshkar ko Saraswati manta hoon", says Kumar Sanu

In an old interview of Ayushman Khurana and Kumar Sanu with Bollywood Hungama, they talked about the late Lata Mangeshkar, the nightingale of India, and her melodious vocals. Ayushman Khurana said that whenever any film of Yash Raj banner commences, the logo of the film appears on the screen and the audience can hear Lata Ji sing.

Khurrana also mentioned an unknown fact where Kumar Sanu is an exceptional case who is the voice of Yashraj for his then-upcoming film Dum Laga Ke Haisha. To which, humble Kumar Sanu says that “Socho kitni Badi baat hai hamare liye. Mei toh Lata Ji ko Saraswati Manta Hu” (Imagine what a big deal it is for me, I consider Lata Ji Saraswati).

 

Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar, who gave her voice to Indian cinema for more than 70 years, was honored at a state funeral Sunday, after she departed at the age of 92. "Lata Di died at 8:12 a.m. due to multi-organ failure after over 28 days of Covid-19 diagnosis," Dr. Pratit Samdani, Mangeshkar's doctor, told reporters outside Breach Candy Hospital.

 

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Indian dignitaries paid their respects to the deceased at the funeral.
