EXCLUSIVE: Janhvi Kapoor recalls being one injury away from surgery during Mr. & Mrs. Mahi shoot; says doctor called her “worst candidate in the world to play cricket”
Janhvi Kapoor, basking in the recent success of her sports drama Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, recently opened up about the physical challenges she faced during filming. In a Bollywood Hungama Hangout session, an event where fans interact with celebrities, Janhvi shared a personal anecdote about a potential surgery scare.
Training for the cricket pitch
Mr. & Mrs. Mahi stars Kapoor alongside Rajkummar Rao and revolves around the cricket world. To prepare for her role, Kapoor underwent rigorous cricket training. However, this dedication came at a physical cost.
Janhvi Kapoor on shoulder dislocations and managing injuries
Kapoor recalled experienced two shoulder dislocations during the training period. Attributing this to a condition known as Multidirectional instability (MDI), she elaborated, "It's not very serious, but... I am one such person whose joints are prone to dislocation.”
Janhvi Kapoor - The worst candidate to play cricket
Recalling a visit to the doctor after a second dislocation, she described a tense situation. "The doctor told me, 'You are the worst candidate in the world to play cricket and do a cricket film,'" she said. "'If it happens one more time, then we have to do a major surgery.'" With a hairline fracture and a labrum tear, managing the injury throughout filming became a significant challenge.
