EXCLUSIVE: Hrithik Roshan calls Vikram Vedha a 'great success' for him despite box office failure; adds it helped to discover “madness” in him, watch
In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, actor Hrithik Roshan spoke about his last release, Vikram Vedha, which did not perform well at the box office. However, in his opinion, the film has been a great success for him.
"I had two of the most wonderful human beings (Pushkar–Gayathri, directors of Vikram Vedha) and two of the most wonderful, incredible writers and two of the most wonderful, incredible directors with me on this film," Roshan said. "They were just such a pleasure to work with. And when I say that, I don't mean that they were nice. I mean, they were allowing Vedha to emerge. It's so important for the director to empower when an actor has a spark of something.”
He further added, “It is so important for the director to receive it, notice it, be aware of it and then empower it. For me as an actor, that really is everything, because if you don't have somebody perceiving it, and realising it in real time. So you need that collaboration."
Roshan went on to say that Vikram Vedha helped him discover a "madness" within himself. "When I say madness, I mean, the ability to transcend all pain, transcend all things that are tying you down, to transcend that and fly," he said. "I knew I had that. But the vibration was at a high intensity. It wasn't calm. The transcendence wasn't calm. It wasn't composed, sort of to take that madness and have it. Just composing that was extremely meditative for all."
He concluded by saying, "The film didn't fare well. But I think in all other ways, it's been a great success for me."
Coming to the professional front, Roshan will be next seen in Fighter.
