Director Ahmed Khan says Welcome To The Jungle has an unexpected serious side: "Watch it on mute and it looks serious"
Director Ahmed Khan has spoken about the style of humour in his upcoming film Welcome To The Jungle, which is scheduled for theatrical release on June 26, 2026.
Speaking about the approach to comedy in the film, Khan said, “This kind of humour is incredibly challenging to create. If you mute Welcome To The Jungle and watch it, it looks like a completely serious film because every actor is performing with absolute sincerity. It is only when you turn the volume back on that you realise they are saying the most outrageous and hilarious things. That’s what makes films like these so difficult to pull off.”
Khan also elaborated on his personal creative preferences, saying, “I chose this style of humour because it reflects who I am as a filmmaker. I have never been drawn to over-the-top comedy, and the same goes for heavily dramatised scenes. I prefer humour that feels natural and grounded, where the situations and performances speak for themselves. That is exactly what drew me to this film.”
Welcome To The Jungle is directed by Ahmed Khan and features one of the largest ensemble casts seen in a Hindi film in recent years. Along with Akshay Kumar and Tusshar Kapoor, the film stars Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Farida Jalal, Johny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Rajpal Yadav, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Aftab Shivdasani and several others.
The film is presented by A.A. Nadiadwala, Cape of Good Films and Star Studio18 in association with Seeta Films and Rakesh Dang. It is produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwallah, along with Rakesh Dang and Vedant Vikaas Baali.
