Babil Khan recalls “jumping on” Shah Rukh Khan during Billu shoot; says, “He came in a Bentley and…”

Actor Babil Khan recently shared a heartwarming anecdote about meeting Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on the sets of Billu, in which his father, the late Irrfan Khan, played the lead role.

In an interview with MensXP, Babil Khan described being a young child on set when Shah Rukh Khan arrived grandly. "It was great meeting Shah Rukh Khan. I met him during the shoot of Billu Barber. I jumped on him," Babil Khan said. "He came in a Bentley and behind him, the people from five villages were following."

 

Babil Khan went on to detail the endearing encounter, revealing his childlike innocence. "[I] never felt 'this man is Shah Rukh Khan,'" he said. "I jumped on his leg, I was small at that time. Main chippak gaya unse [I clung to him]."

 

The interview also touched on Babil Khan's limited presence at Bollywood parties, unlike some other star children. The Qala actor clarified, "Because I am not a star kid. Baba [Irrfan Khan] was not a contemporary star from any angle...He is different. You can't put him in a box."

 

Babil Khan elaborated on his reasons for avoiding social gatherings, admitting to experiencing social anxiety. "I go to parties sometimes," he said. "I have social anxiety and that is not the only reason. I like to stay alone. I like to work on who I am."

 

On the professional front, Babil Khan was recently seen in the web series The Railway Men. He is gearing up for his next project, The Umesh Chronicles, directed by Shoojit Sircar.
