Alia Bhatt credits Aishwarya Rai, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra for paving the way in Hollywood; calls them "huge sources of inspiration"

Alia Bhatt is undoubtedly the biggest female superstar our country has seen in recent years. Her filmography and the ability to get under the skin of any character is truly remarkable making her one of the finest actors in this generation. Apart from giving several multiple hits in the Hindi film industry, Alia made her Hollywood debut last year with Heart of Stone.

At a Forbes event about working in Hollywood, Alia said, "Many actors you know, actresses from the Indian film industry have done that, have been huge sources of inspiration. You know Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone. These are actors, who are also friends of mine but I also admire deeply. So I have to give them a lot of credit because they paved in a sense, made it a normal thing."

 

The Dear Zindagi actress further added, "I also feel like we are living in a time where inclusivity and diversity are the need of the hour where you want to see different faces from different parts of the world, speaking in different accents but all a part of the same language of a story. The story is what should be at the forefront. Not where you come from or what accent you speak or what your ethnicity is or which part of the world you come from."

 

Speaking of the professional front, the 30-year-old actress was last seen in Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. She has a couple of interesting projects in her pipeline including Love And War, a Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial also starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
