In one of the historic moments for India, Javelin player Neeraj Chopra clinched the gold medal in the men's event at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary on August 27, 2023. Etching the name in history, Chopra unfolded his remarkable achievement on Sunday evening and became the first-ever Indian athlete to secure a gold medal at the world championship.
Neeraj Chopra recorded a stellar throw of 88.17 meters during his second attempt which cemented his name on the gold medal. His outstanding performance is being praised by Indians around the world. Bollywood celebrities took to Twitter and Instagram to praise the trailblazer sportsman.
