The event aims to honour Hema Malini’s six-decade-long journey in Indian cinema through music, stories, and live performances. According to the organisers, the evening will revisit milestones from her career while also highlighting her contribution to the entertainment industry over the years.

One of the major highlights of the evening will be Hema Malini singing live on stage for the first time. The organisers have also announced that she will perform a surprise song during the finale of the concert.

The musical tribute will feature a 15-piece live orchestra performing songs associated with Hema Malini’s filmography. Several well-known artistes, whom RJ Anirudh Chawla refers to as “Hemaji Ke Navratan,” are expected to attend and perform during the event. These include Sudesh Bhosale, Kavita Krishnamurthy Subramaniam, Suresh Wadkar, Padmini Kolhapure, Anup Jalota, Anu Malik, Shabbir Kumar, Vijeyta Pandit and Purnima Shrestha. Padmini Kolhapure will also perform live during the concert.

A press conference announcing the event was recently held at the CINTAA office in the presence of Poonam Dhillon, Padmini Kolhapure, RJ Anirudh Chawla, Suresh Wadkar, Shabbir Kumar, Anu Malik and Vijeta Pandit, along with members of the CINTAA executive committee including Upasana Singh, Sheeba Akashdeep, Deepak Parashar, Vikas Verma and Chandraprakash Thakur.

During the event, the official trailer and concert poster were unveiled. Several speakers also shared memories and anecdotes related to Hema Malini and her contribution to cinema. Rare posters, vintage records and memorabilia from RJ Anirudh Chawla’s personal archive were also showcased during the press conference.

Speaking about the initiative, Hema Malini said, “I will be sharing my sixty-year-long journey of films and music with all of you for the very first time. The love that Dharamji and I have received from the film industry and from people across the country and the world can never truly be repaid, but through this show, I am getting an opportunity to express my gratitude to all my fans.”

She further added, “CINTAA has always supported lakhs of artists from our industry. Anirudh and I will be donating five lakh rupees from the ticket sales of this show to CINTAA. This is a small gesture of my love and gratitude towards the organisation.”

Hema Malini also spoke about her association with the organisation and said, “I have personally seen how sincerely and honestly CINTAA has stood for the welfare and rights of artists. Dharamji too always deeply appreciated the spirit of service that CINTAA represents.”

RJ Anirudh Chawla described the concert as a tribute to an era of Indian cinema. He said, “This is not just a concert. It is a journey through time. When you work on a legacy like Hema ji’s, you do not compose music, you relive moments that shaped generations.”

Poonam Dhillon also shared her thoughts on the initiative and said, “This initiative beautifully brings together legacy and responsibility. CINTAA has always stood for the welfare of our fraternity, and it is heartening to see a celebration of this scale also carry a deeper purpose of supporting artists and workers of our industry.”

Apart from the concert, the Diamond Jubilee celebrations will also include a book on Hema Malini’s life co-authored by Hema Malini and RJ Anirudh Chawla, which will be published by Rupa Publications. A documentary based on her life and career is also currently in development.
