BO update: Mardaani 2 opens to 10% occupancy

After keeping the promotions as realistic as possible, Rani Mukerji starrer Mardaani 2 has created quite a buzz in the market. The film revolves around a female cop trying to catch hold of a juvenile criminal who brutally sexually assaults women and ends up murdering them. With a very limited period of just one week to perform at the box office, the question is, will Mardaani 2 be able to surpass the expectations?

As per reports, Mardaani 2 has opened up to an average occupancy of 10% and since it’s a female oriented film, the morning shows did not gain a lot of footfall. Also since it is not a massy youth film, Mardaani 2 will have to depend heavily on the word of mouth. The subject of the film is current as far as the content is concerned but the film only has a week to garner the footfalls as next week sees the grand release of Salman Khan's Dabangg 3.

 

Estimated Opening Day collection of Mardaani 2 is expected to be around Rs. 3 crores. The film has released in 1600 screens in India.
