Box Office: 1920: Horrors of the Heart and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke bring in over Rs. 22 crores, keep theatrical business going last week

When the release date of Adipurush was decided as June 16, and then SatyaPrem Ki Katha was finalised for June 29, arrival, there was no other film that dared to arrive in between. After all it would have been sandwiched. However, 1920: Horrors of the Heart made sudden plans to arrive last weekend and that too when it had only 6 open days for it. Meanwhile, there was Zara Hatke Zara Bachke as well in its fourth week and one wondered how it will do.

Well, as it has turned out, between the two films over rs. 22 crores have come in and that’s the kind of number no one would have really expected in the week gone by. In fact, Adipurush was expected to take forward the momentum in the second week but instead it was 1920: The Horrors of the Heart that led the show and brought in Rs. 12.55 crores at the box office. Out of this, Rs. 8.73 crores came from the Hindi version while rest of the contribution came from the Telugu and Tamil versions, which was further surprising since it was not even promoted as a pan-India release. Given the low costs, this Krishna Bhatt film directed horror drama has emerged as a small little success.

 

On the other hand, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is a really big success as its fourth week was even bigger than the third, what with around Rs. 9.99 crores more coming in. The film made the most of the screens and shows that were increased for it last week and though on weekdays there were regular but normal dips seen, the good rise in collections over the weekend gone by had ensured that the overall collections came out to be much healthier. Currently standing at Rs. 82.53 crores, this super hit film of Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan is headed towards Rs. 88-90 crores lifetime.
