Supermodel enters Bollywood

He works out with two of the best faces of Bollywood Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan. He's 'good friends' with the chirpy Amrita Arora, whose acting career has got a push. Meet the 23-year-old supermodel from U.K., who has taken the fashion world in Mumbai by storm and is all set to try his hand at Bollywood now Upen Patel. Having undergone a course in acting and in the midst of taking diction classes, Upen has already received several offers from known names in Bollywood. But the offers weren't really lucrative enough to grab them instantaneously, Upen tells me, Ideally, I'd prefer to be launched in an action film by a stylish film-maker like Sanjay Gupta. I am waiting for the right opportunity to come my way. Upen denies that the success of his peers in the profession of acting [Dino Morea, John Abraham, Arjun Rampal] propelled him to take a plunge in Bollywood. I was always eager to join movies and my parents' support gave me the go-ahead to try out this profession, he admits. In the meanwhile, Upen has done a music video [the remix version of 'Sun Sahiba Sun'] to get a hang of the medium. In fact, it was Sanju who recommended Upen to the Colossus guys for this video. With titles like 'Society Young Achievers Award 2003', 'MTV's Hottest Face of the Year' and 'MTV's Most Stylish Face on the Ramp', it's a matter of time before Upen is lapped up by producers and directors of repute.
