Mythri Movie Makers has officially announced that Fauzi, the much-anticipated Prabhas starrer directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, will unfold as a two-part cinematic series. The makers shared the update shortly after unveiling the film’s striking title poster, which introduced audiences to Prabhas in a fierce, uniformed avatar as a soldier of the Azad Hind Force. The announcement has added to the growing buzz around the project, already one of the most talked-about films in the superstar’s lineup.

The collaboration reunites Prabhas with the acclaimed director of Sita Ramam and marks the actor’s return to a large-scale period setting after the Baahubali franchise. Described as a fictionalised retelling inspired by historical events, Fauzi aims to explore lesser-known moments from India’s colonial era through an expansive storyline. Director Hanu Raghavapudi confirmed that the narrative has been designed to span two films, with the second instalment serving as a prequel that expands the universe further.
Speaking about the creative approach, Raghavapudi said, “We're portraying one world of Prabhas in this movie, and the second installment will explore another dimension. There's abundant material from our colonial past — stories that ended tragically but could've been fairy tales in another reality. l've also woven in a few real-life experiences that inspired me personally.” His comments suggest that the filmmaker intends to build a layered narrative that moves beyond a single timeline, offering audiences a broader perspective on the characters and themes.
Touted as Mythri Movie Makers’ most ambitious project yet, Fauzi brings together Prabhas, the banner behind Pushpa, and the filmmaker whose emotional period drama Sita Ramam earned widespread acclaim. Marketed as “a union of generations,” the film promises a mix of visual spectacle and an emotionally resonant story anchored around the tagline: “The bravest tale of a soldier.” It is positioned as a fresh interpretation of heroism during India’s freedom struggle, spotlighting figures whose bravery often remained overshadowed in mainstream storytelling.
Hanu Raghavapudi has also emphasised his commitment to portraying freedom fighters in an uplifting manner. He has expressed that many films tend to focus on the tragic end of such stories, and Fauzi aims instead to celebrate these figures as aspirational icons. According to him, their courage and conviction deserve to be showcased with a sense of pride and positivity rather than solely through a sombre lens.
With the confirmation of a two-part structure and a prequel already in the pipeline, Fauzi is shaping up to be one of Prabhas’ most ambitious ventures. The expansive world-building, period backdrop, and the director’s vision of reimagining forgotten heroes ensure that anticipation continues to climb as the project moves forward.
