Shammi Kapoor's ashes to rest in Dal Lake

Just weeks ago, Bollywood mourned the loss of legendary actor Shammi Kapoor. The man who has given us number of memorable films will reach his final resting place in the Dal Lake.

The actor who passed away on August 14, 2011, will have his ashes immersed in the lake in Jammu and Kashmir. What's more the late actor's leading ladies Asha Parekh and Sharmila Tagore will accompany his son Aditya Raj Kapoor and daughter Kanchan. Amitabh Bachchan and Shabana Azmi will also join them to the lake.

 

The idea of having Shammi's ashes rest in the lake came from Kanchan. The entourage left for the serene locale yesterday.
