Rock The Shaadi kicks off on Dussehra

Ekta Kapoor's much talked about film Rock the Shaadi ,which has been in news for a while, finally commenced its shoot on the auspicious day of Dussehra in Rajasthan.

 

Even though they were supposed to start the shoot on October 7, Navdeep Singh, the director of Rock The Shaadi, decided to roll the camera for the mahurat clap and started shooting on the Oct 6 considering it to be lucky for the film. In fact it was none other than Genelia D'Souza who gave the mahurat clap.

Confirms Tanuj Garg, CEO, Balaji Motion Pictures, "Even though Rock The Shaadi shoot was to start on 7th, as it was Dussehra on 6th, the director decided to roll the camera for auspicious reasons a day earlier, while Genelia gave the first clap. It was the first time that she has given a clap in all these years."

 

Rock the Shaadi is essentially a fun-jabi film which stars Abhay Deol and Genelia D'Souza for the first time. It is directed by Navdeep Singh of Manorama Six Feet Under fame and produced by Ekta Kapoor. It is said that 60-70% of the film will be shot in and around a shaadi mandap.
