Om Puri awarded Order of the British Empire

Prolific Bollywood actor Om Puri received a letter today from the British high commissioner informing him that he has been made an honorary officer of the British Empire. The actor has been awarded the prestigious Order Of the British Empire for his contribution towards the British Film industry. Puri has enacted big roles in British films like East is East (1999), My Son The Fanatic (1997) and a few more. His upcoming films include the King of Bollywood (costarring British actress Sophie Dahl), Kyun! Ho Gaya Na and Kisna. Puri is eager to visit Britain to receive the award. Prior to this Indian actor Saeed Jaffrey was honored with this award.
