JuD chief Hafiz Saeed seeks ban on Phantom's release in Pakistan

Hafiz Muhammad Saeed aka chief of JuD (Jamaat-ud-Dawa) and also the mastermind behind the infamous Mumbai attacks has now filed a plea petition in a Lahore court seeking a ban on the release of Phantom in Pakistan. The reason that he has allegedly stated is that the film (which has been set on post-26/11 attacks and global terrorism) comprises of 'filthy propaganda' against Pakistan and that it has venom against Pakistan and JuD.

 

News reports state that he has allegedly said that the film (Phantom) is based on the 2008's Mumbai attack and global terrorism implicating the JuD. In addition to this, he also allegedly stated that filthy propaganda has been done in the film against Pakistan under subject of the world terrorism. He also prayed to the court to ban the release of Phantom in Pakistan for its anti-Pakistan content. Meanwhile, Shahid Bilal Hassan (Lahore High Court's Justice) has now reportedly fixed today as the date for hearing the petition. On the other hand, the film is yet to be cleared by the Pakistan Censor Board.

Readers may recall that in the past, the screening of the Saif Ali Khan starrer Agent Vinod and the Salman Khan starrer Ek Tha Tiger had been banned in Pakistan, due to its content.
