Housefull 5: A murder, a ship and Akshay Kumar’s comedy chaos — Get ready for Bollywood’s wildest whodunit

Akshay Kumar is loved in comic roles and this year, he’ll be seen in multiple fun-filled films. One of them is Housefull 5 and the excitement for it is tremendous due to the popularity of the franchise, comedy genre and of course Akshay Kumar’s presence. This time, he and Riteish Deshmukh are joined by many others like Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chunky Pandey, Johny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Chitrangada Singh, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma and Nikitin Dheer. Bollywood Hungama recently learned about the premise of the film and it's sure to enhance its buzz.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “As we all know that Housefull 5 is set on a cruise ship. The film is basically a murder mystery. A murder takes place on the ship and all the actors present in the film are suspects. Two of the actors play cops and while they try to find who the murderer is, the makers promise a lot of laughter and madness.”

 

Recently, pictures of Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff posing in police uniform from Housefull 5 sets were out and it's sure to give rise to speculations on whether these two veteran actors are playing the role of the investigators.

 

Interestingly, the idea of a murder taking place on a boat was seen recently in two Hollywood films – Death On The Nile (2022) and Murder Mystery (2019). The source, however, assured, “Just like Death On The Nile and Murder Mystery are different from each other, so is Housefull 5. The makers have added a lot of desi-style entertainment. Moreover, with Sajid Nadiadwala at the helm of affairs, he has taken every care to ensure that Housefull 5 turns out to be an original and one-of-its-kind comedy flick of Indian cinema.”

 

Housefull 5 is directed by Tarun Mansukhani of Dostana (2008) fame and releases on Bakri Eid, on June 6, 2025.
