Hansal Mehta to direct Saaransh remake

Mahesh Bhatt recently stated that he was very impressed with Hansal Mehta's vision when he directed Citylights. And now, they have announced yet another association with the filmmaker as they will be recreating the classic Saaransh.

 

Hansal Mehta has been roped in to remake the Anupam Kher - Rohini Hatangadi starrer and an excited Pooja Bhatt also revealed that she too will be co-producing the film. While we hear that Rajkummar Rao is the lead contender for Anupam Kher's role, Pooja Bhatt maintained that she wants a young actor to play the role since she believes they will do justice just like Anupam Kher did when he played the role of an aged father at the age of 28.

Saaransh is the story of an elderly couple who are recouping from the death of their young son during a robbery in New York.
