Devi Sri Prasad to storm into Hindi cinema
Devi Sri Prasad, the Telugu-Tamil composer of the chartbusting 'Ringa Ringa' (used as 'Dhinka Chika' in Ready) who is currently the Telugu chart-topper, is all set to storm Hindi cinema with a full-fledged score, courtesy Salman Khan who loves to foster new musical talent, be it Himesh Reshammiya or Sajid-Wajid.

In fact Salman was keen to have Devi Prasad do the music of Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger but that didn't work out. Devi would now be doing the music of Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick and Sohail Khan's next film.
Devi Sri Prasad to storm into Hindi cinema
Unassuming, humble and deeply devoted to music, Devi Sri Prasad is hardly dancing with joy about his Hindi debut. "Though it's a dream to compose a full-fledged score in Hindi, I am completely consumed by my assignments in the South. And I can't work in too many assignments at the same time. I'd rather be remembered for quality than quantity and that's what I'm aiming towards. But yes Salman Khan has been very, very supportive and eager to have me in Hindi cinema. After I did my 'Ringa Ringa' track from the Telugu Ready for Salman's Ready, he offered that I do two songs in Bodyguard. Because of my commitments in the South, I couldn't take up his offer. Then he said, 'Let's work on Ek Tha Tiger together' which again I couldn't do. Now he's keen that I do a couple of other projects."
Devi agrees it's hard to say no to Salman. "He is so warm and persistent .He just wants me to work with him in any project. I know if I do music for his cinema it'd automatically be noticed. Just look at the impact of 'Dhinka Chika'. I did just that one track in the Hindi Ready and it became the talking-point."
Devi has just done the Hindi version of his new chartbuster 'Aa Ante Amalpuram' from the Telugu film Aarya for Sonu Sood's starrer Maximum.
Again that was a pleasant experience for Devi. Incidentally, Sonu Sood is equally adamant that Devi come into Hindi films. But it's Salman whose invitation Devi has decided to take up.
What does the chart-ruler feel about the success of Ilaiyaraja and A. R. Rahman? Says Devi Prasad, "Let's not compare the two. Raja Sir is the God of music and Rahman himself would acknowledge that. In my studio, one full wall is devoted to a portrait of Raja Sir. I know of no other God except him. If I can achieve even a fraction of what he has, I'd consider myself blessed. And the best part is, in spite of his vast knowledge of music Raja Sir could create perfect crowd-pulling songs. I'd also like to achieve the same quality of mass appeal without losing my basic musical sensibilities."
As he readies himself for a stint in Hindi films, Devi Prasad cautions himself, "I am doing fine in Tamil and Telugu cinema. We've just started work on the music of Singham 2 in Tamil with Suriya in the lead."
