Bharat Shah hospitalised:
Bharat Shah was admitted to JJ Hospital after he complained of a severe chest pain. He is being kept under observation. Late in the night, the Crime Branch raided the Versova offices of B4U, a TV channel promoted by Shah and his Opera House offices from where he runs his gems empire. Meanwhile, the shooting of Sanjay Bhansali's Devdas at Filmcity was cancelled after the arrest of Shah. Trade Guide Editor Taran Adarsh said "The industry is shocked. People in general are shocked since he is the leading film financier. Shah is also the leading distributor in the Bombay area, so the implications on economics are tremendous" With Shah's arrest, the fate of 20 films hangs in balance. Approximately, 45 crores have been invested in Rajkumar Santoshi's Lajja & Sanjay Bhansali's Devdas.
