Off-beat topics have suddenly turned into a rage today with stars trying their histrionics and demonstrating their versatility at non-formula films. A remake of a hit Telegu Film, Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, also has Anil Kapoor and Sonali Bendre as its main protagonists. Unlike formula films, where rape is one of the central events resulting in the following: 1. The hero avenges and marries the rape victim 2. The victim commits suicide. 3. The victim avenges herself etc. etc Therefore, rape is used as paradigm definition event in formula films. Satish Kaushik tries to explore the aftermath of a rape on the victim. It is a story told from the victim's perspective trying to capture the angst, anger, doubt, dilemma, guilt and self-condemnation of a rape victim. Aishwarya is the rape victim with Anil as her romantic beau. It explores the journey of Ash trying to pick up pieces of her life after rape. Anil was ecstatic about the script saying that for him the script was the most important factor in signing the film. Puru Raj Kumar, of the failed Bal Brahmachari, tries his hand at turning a villian in this film. Slated for release on 11 August, this film promises to shake up the audiences and turn into another super hit. Will Satish manage to woo the audience once again after Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rahte Hai ?
