Sonu Nigam in part three of a Bollywood Hungama exclusive interview with Faridoon Shahryar speaks about why his intention wasn't to hurt anyone's sentiments. He also made a pertinent point that comfort of people should be above the religious egos.

I wrote an article on your issue as well, aapne pada tha, uske baad bahut se logo ne mujhse kaha ke aap khuda se daro, maine kahan main khuda se toh darta hu lekin Mulla jab Khuda ban ne lagte hai toh I have an issue with that. Kaafi maine aise bhi comments padhe, unko aisa lagta hai ke choice of words Jo aapne use kiya could have been different. Do you feel that?
Aur kya aadmi Twitter pe likhega? If you write on Twitter you can't expect to write an essay. On twitter you have to be short and precise. Kisine mujhse kaha ke aapne Mohammad sahab kyun nahi likha ya Prophet Mohammad kyun nahi likha? Maine yeh kahan this is the problem of English language when I am using English I don't say Bhagwan Shiv ya Shiv ji I say Shiva or I say Krishna, I won't say Shree Krishna or Ram Ji. In my day to day language when I am using Hindi or Urdu, I am making an honest confession, Hindi ya Urdu mein hamare muh se Mohammad nahi niklega humare muh se Mohammad Sahab hi niklega. Lekin when we write in English that too on Twitter, you don't want to use that space and say Prophet Mohammad, Mohammad Sahab, nahi aata hai. I used to know, Rabbani, Ghulam Mustafa Khan sahab ke bete Rabanni, ab main usko aise bolu ke tune aise kyun bol diya? Ram ji kyun nahi bola? Krishna ji kyun nahi bola? Ab woh uske muh se nahi niklega yaar. He's not used to certain things and we have to be considerate about it. Jaise unke muh se nahi niklega waise mere muh se bhi nahi nikal raha. I don't use these words in day to day life. Jo log used to hai woh karen. Phir bhi maine kaha ki mera intent disrespect ka nahi tha. In English language when you read such historic things, they don't write Prophet Mohammad, they write Mohammad. In all the articles, aap Wikipedia pe jaaye they write Mohammad only. English language ka isse hai. Hindi mein aap boliye toh hamare muh se Mohammad Sahab hi niklega. These are little things that people… Badi baat na pakadke choti baat pakadna.

Woh toh aaj kal aam ho gaya hai, jaise issue kuch hota hai baghair mudde ko samajne ke. Jo aapne baat kahi hai loudspeaker to abhi kuch saalon se aaya hai, 1400 saal se Islam hai and speakers kuch saalo se hai toh bahut si cheezon ke baare mein debate honi chahiye.

Yeh Masjido tak seemit nahi hai, bahut saare Mandir and Gurudware hai jo chalate hai 'Satnam Waheguru' and Ram ji ki aarti, arey kyun kar rahe ho yaar? Yeh Mandiro ko tumne kya samaj rakha hai? Tumhare aas paas ke jo log hai they should be subjective to this thing, they think unko mazaa aata hai, nahi aata hai yaar.

Same people, when people go abroad they follow the line completely wahan par nahi hota hai, in England for example.

In a country which calls itself considerate I think the comfort of people is more important than religious egos. Comfort of people should be the first priority chahe woh koi bhi religion ho.
