Ranveer Singh is one busy man with interesting projects in the pipeline. The actor, who recently returned from his Sri Lanka vacation, is back to the grind and prepping for Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. The actor will, reportedly, star as a street rapper in the film.
As Ranveer Singh will be seen as a rapper in the film, he has been spending a lot of time with rappers from in and around Mumbai. He has been doing workshops, training under known rappers like Divine and collaborating to get into the skin of the character. This week, he did several workshops with the rappers and is working hard during the recording sessions as well. Sharing a picture, Ranveer Singh captioned it, “Y’already know #gullyboys @ntnmshra @kaaam_bhaari @vivianakadivine.” Divine has been helping out the actor since the beginning.
As Ranveer has earlier rapped in Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl, he has a little experience in that department. Now, he is working hard to ace the genre.
Gully Boy is directed by Zoya Akhtar and is inspired the lives of many rappers including rapper Naezy. This would be the first time Ranveer will star opposite Alia Bhatt on the big screen. They have earlier worked in a couple of ads for an e-com travel portal. Gully Boy also marks the reunion of Zoya Akhtar and Ranveer Singh after Dil Dhadakne Do. The film will soon go on floors and is slated to release later this year.
