The Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan released in India back in 2015. Directed by Kabir Khan the film managed to do well at the domestic box office fast raking in the moolah. Now years later we see the release of Bajrangi Bhaijaan in the overseas market of China. However, despite this much delayed release the film seems to have opened on a good note. In fact, Bajrangi Bhaijaan managed to draw in USD 2.25 million [Rs. 14.63 cr] on its opening day at the China box office.
If that wasn’t all, the collections of the film over its opening weekend in China witnessed an upward trend. Now after collecting USD 3.11 million [Rs. 20.22 cr] on its second day, Bajrangi Bhaijaan has managed to draw in another USD 3.13 million [Rs. 20.36 cr] on its third day at the China box office. With this the total collections of Bajrangi Bhaijaan within the Chinese market stands at USD 8.49 million [Rs. 55.22 cr].
However, despite the good collections, the business of the Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan at the China box office, does not manage to compete with the previously released Aamir Khan starrers Secret Superstar and Dangal that had collected a massive USD 27.17 million [Rs. 173.82 cr] and USD 12.51 million [Rs. 80.02 cr] respectively on their opening weekend. But on the other hand, the business of Bajrangi Bhaijaan does manage to surpass the opening weekend collections of the Aamir Khan – Anushka Sharma starrer PK that had collected USD 5.58 million [Rs. 36.30 cr] on its opening weekend in China.
Now, with Bajranji Bhaijaan still running in China and the film’s day-wise data showing an upward trend, it will be interesting to see how it fares on weekdays.
