The David Dhawan directed film Judwaa 2 which was a remake of the Salman Khan starrer Judwaa has been doing rather well at the box office. Featuring Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu the film which released across 3500+ screens in India has been raking in the moolah.
After a stellar start with Rs. 16.10 cr coming in on its opening day, Judwaa 2 which enjoyed an extended weekend with Monday being a holiday managed to rake in a further Rs. 20.55 and Rs. 22.60 cr on Saturday and Sunday respectively. On Monday though the film’s collections saw a slight dip, it still managed to rake in Rs. 18 cr, taking the cumulative four day total collections to Rs. 77.25 cr.
In this box office report we take a look at the collections of Judwaa 2 while comparing the same to previous releases of 2017. Interestingly Judwaa 2 ranks as the ninth highest grosser of 2017 with its four day collections of Rs. 77.25 cr. Though the collections of Judwaa 2 are yet to surpass previous releases like Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion that collected Rs. 510.99 cr, Raees that collected Rs. 137.51 cr, Toilet - Ek Prem Katha that collected Rs. 134.22 cr, Tubelight that collected Rs. 119.26 cr, Jolly LLB 2 that collected Rs. 117 cr, Badrinath Ki Dulhania that collected Rs. 116.68 cr, Kaabil that collected Rs. 103.84 cr and Baadshaho that collected Rs. 78.1 cr, on the other hand Judwaa 2 has already managed to surpass the lifetime collections of other releases like Hindi Medium that collected Rs. 69.59 cr, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal that collected Rs. 64.33 cr and Half Girlfriend that collected Rs. 60.30.
Currently, looking at the box office streak Judwaa 2 is on, the film which is expected to dominate the box office this week as well is expected to close business at approximately Rs. 140 cr. Going by these estimates all that remains to be seen is whether the collections of Judwaa 2 manage to surpass the collections of previous releases to emerge as one of the top three grossers of 2017.
