After making some popular saas-bahu fiction shows, Ekta Kapoor has moved on to real life stories. She has made a conscious move from the ostentatious drawing rooms and lavish bungalows to villages, slums and traffic signals. The focus is on real people, even as Ekta gears up for her two prime time shows on Sony TV — Bayttaab Dil Kee Tamanna Hai and Pyaar Ka Bandhan. Both the shows are very different. One is dark, harsh and real. The other has the capacity to tug your heart strings. There was a time when Ekta's shows always had protagonists who were very positive and almost perfect. But this time it’s the opposite. The protagonist in Bayttaab is far from perfect; in fact she is projected as the first anti-heroine of tellyland. "Bayttaab's protagonist is determined to fight all odds to fulfill her dream," says Ekta adding, "It's a show that deals with relationships. It is when you life is stuck between survival and reality."
