Thalapathy Vijay's much anticipated and talked about film Beast has been released in theatres today. The film directed by Nelson Dilipkumar also stars Pooja Hegde in the lead. The team of Beast has been busy promoting the film. However, actor Vijay who is not known to give many interviews recently revealed why he stays away from the media.

Thalapathy Vijay reveals why he has been avoiding media interactions for 10 years

During a recent interview on TV for the film Beast, Vijay revaled that he made a conscious decision to stay away from the media after he got into a controversy. The interview was aired on Sun TV, whose film production banner Sun Picture has bankrolled the movie. The interview was conducted by Beast director Nelson Dilipkumar.

“Why don’t you give media interviews. Is your schedule packed?” asked Nelson. Responding to it, the actor shared, "No, not like that. I have free time for interviews but things didn’t work out. I think about 10 years ago, I had given an interview. And I felt my words were misinterpreted in that interview. I was not happy. Even my family members asked why I had spoken so arrogantly. I then had to call up the person concerned and explained to him that I didn’t mean it like that. And I can’t keep doing it to everyone all the time right. So, I keep away from interviews".

For the unversed, in 2009 during the promotion of his film Villu, in a rare public outburst, Vijay had lost his temper during a press meet leaving everyone surprised.

Meanwhile, Beast is one of the most awaited films and the Tamil version of the film is already witnessing a massive footfall on day one. The Hindi version of Beast has been titled Raw.
