SS Rajamouli is currently basking in the massive success of his recently released film RRR. The maverick filmmaker released RRR, five years after the massive hit film Baahubali 2. RRR starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR was initially supposed to release on January 7 earlier this year. However, the film had to be postponed owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film was eventually released on March 24 and within two weeks of its release, the film earned Rs. 1000 crore at the box office. The story of the film was penned by K.V. Vijayendra Prasad, who is also SS Rajamouli’s father. The father-son duo also worked together on the Baahubali franchise.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, SS Rajamouli revealed that his father is a workaholic and that he had to beg him to let him rest before they start their next project with Mahesh Babu. “I'm not at all like my father,” says Rajamouli. “He's a real workaholic. He works 24/7 365 days a year. I mean, I work like him as long as I'm on the production. But once the film is over, and once it is out, I would really like to take a long break to recuperate, but he's relentless. He continuously calls me, badgers me saying that ‘okay, you had enough of a break, come, let's go to work’. I try to say ‘please give me some time. Let me just cool down a little bit. Give me a little bit of time.’”

“Yesterday morning, I had to make him sit and say please, I just need to close the book of RRR before I can actually get completely merged into the next project. Please don't push me so hard. Give me a little bit of time. I had to beg him just today morning,” the ace director added.
