Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, currently shooting for his upcoming film Jailer 2 directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, was recently spotted traveling to Goa by flight. A video of the actor seated in an economy class seat and greeting fans on board has now gone viral on social media.
In the clip shared by fans, Rajinikanth is seen sitting towards the front of the plane. As passengers take out their phones and cheer, he stands up, waves at them briefly, and then sits down again. Even the airline staff seemed amused, while fans applauded the superstar. Interestingly, Rajinikanth was seated in economy class rather than business class, which surprised many.
One fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Superstar #Rajinikanth turns a flight into a mini theatre with his charm! On his way to Goa for the #Jailer2 next schedule.” Another commented, “Very lucky fans,” while a third added, “Rajinikanth in an economy seat — yet the aura around him feels first class.” Many social media users expressed their admiration for his humility and charm.
Upcoming Projects
In 2024, Rajinikanth starred in Lal Salaam, directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth, and in TJ Gnanavel’s Vettaiyan. He also appeared in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie, which went on to collect Rs. 518 crores worldwide.
He is now filming the sequel to his 2023 hit Jailer, reprising his role as ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian. Ramya Krishnan will return to reprise her role, while Shiva Rajkumar confirmed a cameo appearance. Balakrishna is also set to play a key role in the film.
Additionally, Rajinikanth is rumoured to star in a project co-starring and produced by Kamal Haasan. While the official announcement regarding the director and other details is still awaited, both actors have confirmed the project on several occasions.
