Samantha Akkineni, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi to feature in Kamal Haasan’s iconic song ‘Valayosai’ remake : Bollywood News

The cast of Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal is re-imagining Kamal Haasan’s iconic song ‘Valayosai’ for their film featuring not one but two leading ladies-Samantha Akkineni and Nayanthara. Besides the duo, Vijay Sethupathi is also co-starring in the film and song they can be seen travelling on the footboard of a bus as seen in the video from the sets surfaced online. They’re even seen wearing costumes similar to the actors in ‘Valayosai’ from movie Sathyaa (1988).

While in the original version, Kamal Haasan and Amala were seen sharing a bus ride and during the course of the song, the couple stood on the footboard as the bus was fully crowded. Director Vignesh Shivan of Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal is now recreating the song with Samantha and Nayanthara where the two can be seen wearing saree that resembles Amala’s in the original.

Recently, Samantha celebrated her recent Best Actress Award (Series) 2021 win on the sets of Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal, which she bagged for her outstanding performance in The Family Man 2. She shared quite a few photos from the party on her social media.

Director Vignesh Shivan made his directorial debut in 2015 with Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, starring Sethupathi and Nayanthara in the lead roles, making the film one of the biggest blockbusters of that year. However, Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal will mark the director’s second collaboration with Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. Samantha has recently finished shooting for her upcoming drama Shaakuntalam.
