S.S. Rajamouli and M.M. Keeravani turn emotional as Richard Carpenter dedicates a special message to RRR team : Bollywood News

Ram Charan, Jr NTR starrer RRR has now become a global phenomenon and has created history with its win at the 95th Academy Awards. While many have extended their congratulations to the team after winning the prestigious honor for its song ‘Naatu Naatu’, including Bollywood personas, the team got extremely emotional when they received a special message from popular American musician Richard Carpenter. The legendary pianist paid a tribute as he extended his best wishes to the team on social media and director S.S. Rajamouli and musician M.M. Keeravani also reacted to it.

Taking to Instagram, Richard Carpenter of The Carpenters fame dedicated the song ‘On Top of the World’ as a part of congratulating the team of RRR. He was seen playing the piano and singing the track and posted the video along with a heartfelt note for them. His note read, “To @mmkeeravaani and @chandraboselyricist: Heartfelt congratulations on your win for Best Original Song. Here is a little something from our family to you and yours.”

Followed by his note, S.S. Rajamouli reacted to the post saying, “Sir, through out this Oscar campaign my brother maintained a calm composure.whether it is before winning or after he didn't let his emotions out. But, the moment he saw this, he couldn't control the tears rolling down his cheeks..most memorable moment for our family.. Thank you so much.. <3”. M.M. Keeravani also extended his gratitude adding, “This is something I didn’t expect at all ..tears rolling out of joy <3<3<3 Most wonderful gift from the Universe”. Besides them, Ram Charan’s wife Upasana Kamineni Konidela also reacted to the post by commenting, “This is so lovely. <3”

For the unversed, the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ bagged the award for the Best Original Song at the recently held 95th Academy Awards, making it the first Indian film to have won the Oscars in this category. In the past, many popular Hollywood celebrities have also showered love on the film, adding that they loved the music and performances in it.

Directed by S.S. Rajamouli, RRR is set in the pre-Independence era and features Jr NTR in the role of a rebellious revolutionary whereas Ram Charan plays an honest and sincere police officer, working under the British Raj.
