Ram Charan’s wife Upasana Kamineni unhappy as South industries were ‘neglected’ at PM Modi’s meet with filmstars

As part of the #ChangeWithin initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on October 19, met an array of celebrities from Bollywood. Shah Rukh Khan, Kangana Ranaut, Jacqueline Fernandez and Aamir Khan, among others, were present and discussed at length about the Gandhian ideology and its cinematic expression. The attendance, however, mostly represented the Hindi film industry, which might not have gone down well with the Southern stars. Superstar Ram Charan’s wife Upasana Kamineni wrote a note to PM Modi on Instagram, stating that the Southern industries were ‘neglected’ at the meet.

‘Dearest @narendramodi ji. We in the South of INDIA admire you & are Proud to have you as our Prime Minister. With all due respect we felt that the representation of Leading personalities & cultural icons was limited only to Hindi Artists and the The South Film Industry was neglected,’ her note reads.

As reports, the only person to represent the Southern industries at the meet was producer Dil Raju.

‘I express my feelings with pain & hope it’s taken in the right spirit,’ Upasana added.
