Superstar Rajinikanth celebrated his birthday in a heartwarming way this year, marking the special day on the set of his upcoming film Jailer 2, where he is currently shooting with his team. The legendary actor was surrounded by co-stars and crew members as they joyfully honoured his birthday amid production.
On December 12, Rajinikanth marked another milestone in his life and career, and the set of Jailer 2 turned into a festive space with team members cutting a cake alongside him. Director Nelson and cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan were seen joining the celebrations, and the production house Sun Pictures shared moments from the event on social media.

Rajinikanth has reprised his iconic role as ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian in Jailer 2, returning to the character that has become synonymous with his mass appeal. Ramya Krishnan, who played his on-screen wife in the first Jailer, is also expected to be part of the sequel, while other notable actors like Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar may return as well.
The film Jailer 2 is being produced by Sun Pictures with music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan, and editing by R. Nirmal. It’s slated to release worldwide on June 12, 2026.
