Recent reports claiming that the upcoming film Athimanoharan starring Mohanlal had been put on hold due to script-related issues sparked concern among fans. However, director Tharun Moorthy has now stepped forward to dismiss the speculation, clarifying that the film remains on track and that production is progressing smoothly.

Taking to his Instagram Stories, the filmmaker addressed the rumours directly and urged people not to circulate unverified information regarding the project. “Dear friends, I am receiving many messages and calls regarding online news claiming that our shoot has been stopped due to confusion in the script. This is completely false.”
Further talking about the extreme weather conditions they have been shooting in, he went on to continue, “We have been shooting here in Thodupuzha for the past 78 days. Yes, the rain and weather conditions have affected some of our plans, but our team is working hard to overcome every challenge and continue filming with great enthusiasm and positivity.”
The statement comes amid growing chatter on social media suggesting that the film’s production had encountered creative hurdles. Tharun’s clarification makes it clear that while the team has had to deal with adverse weather conditions, there have been no script-related disruptions affecting the shoot.
The filmmaker also expressed concern over the spread of misinformation and requested content creators and social media users to exercise responsibility before sharing such reports. “I kindly request everyone not to post or spread unverified information for personal likes, views, or reach. Such misinformation can create unnecessary confusion among the audience and affect the efforts of the entire team. Thank you for your understanding and support”, he requested.

Athimanoharan marks another collaboration between Mohanlal and Tharun Moorthy following the success of Thudarum. Earlier, the filmmaker had opened up about the project and described it as a police procedural drama with strong family elements woven into its narrative. The film is expected to showcase Mohanlal in a distinctive role while balancing investigative drama with emotional storytelling.
In the film, Mohanlal plays Sub-Inspector T.S. Lovelajan, while Meera Jasmine stars as the female lead. The screenplay has been penned by Ratheesh Ravi. The technical crew features several acclaimed names, including music composer Jakes Bejoy, cinematographer Shaji Kumar, and editor Vivek Harshan, whose recent credits include Manjummel Boys and Aavesham.
With Tharun Moorthy’s clarification now putting the rumours to rest, fans can look forward to further updates on Athimanoharan as the production continues its journey towards completion.
