Lokesh Kanagaraj is all set to reunite with his Master leading man Thalapathy Vijay for his next and considering the immense response for their last project, their next has garnered ample attention. However, both, the director as well as the Tamil superstar are tight-lipped about the details of the film. In a recent event, the Vikram filmmaker decided to open up and give audiences a glimpse of his next venture with the superstar. He also put an end to rumours doing the rounds about the Thalapathy 67 being a part of the LCU aka Lokesh Cinematic Universe.

Readers would be aware that in the past, filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj had opened up about his wish to bring together multiple action entertainers under the umbrella of LCU aka Lokesh Cinematic Universe. And the director has already started laying down its foundation with a Kaithi and Vikram crossover. In fact, adding to it, was also the character of Rolex played by Suriya which is too expected to be a part of the LCU. However, at a recent event, the filmmaker delivered a small bad news to Thalapathy Vijay fans by maintaining that Thalapathy 67 will not be a part of the action franchise.

He said, “I can’t talk about the project now. But I can say that it won’t be part of the universe.” He further also mentioned that he has been maintaining silence over the film as he would only be able to reveal details after the Vijay, Rashmika Mandanna starrer Varisu hits the big screens. He added, “It’ll be a gangster film but I can only share more information about the project after the release of Varisu.” For the unversed, Varisu is a bilingual drama in Telugu and Tamil that is expected to release on January 12, 2023.

Coming to Thalapathy 67, the details of the cast and crew too are kept under wraps. However, recent reports suggested that Trisha Krishnan has been roped in as the leading lady for the film and the duo will be seen reuniting on the big screen after 14 years.
