Leo, which turned out to be one of the biggest hits of Thalapathy Vijay in recent times, continues to remain in the news. After the Trisha – Mansoor Ali Khan controversy, the film has landed in legal trouble once again and this time, it is because of filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj. The latter has been facing allegations from a certain petitioner who has not only expressed his anger over portrayal of extreme violence in Leo, but has also sought a ban on the movie.

The Madurai based complainant named Raju Murugan has filed a petition against Lokesh Kanagaraj at the High Court seeking psychological evaluation of the filmmaker and even requesting for a ban on the movie. It seems that the petitioner was upset with the negative portrayal and extensive use of violence in the recently released actioner. While the film did receive a little bit of flak for its action sequences as well as smoking scenes, in the petition Raju Murugan has referenced scenes which use weapons, drug usage, violence against women and children, while seeking a ban on the film. Furthermore, it also said that these films should undergo rigorous treatment when it is reviewed by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), who should act as vigilantes prior to these releases.

Currently, the case, which was headed by the bench of Justice Krishna Kumar and Vijay Kumar, has been adjourned after the petitioner failed to make an appearance. Interestingly, in an earlier interview, Lokesh had opened up about the use of violence in his films adding that it is “fun” to use such fictional elements in movies with the idea of entertainment because they never happen in real life.

Speaking of Leo, the Thalapathy Vijay starrer is an integral part of the action universe which is being created by Lokesh Kanagaraj under the name LCU aka Lokesh Cinematic Universe. The film also starred Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, among others.
